About the Concert

Together with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie under the baton of Steven Mercurio, the program opens with celebrated highlights from Guillaume Tell, Rigoletto, Martha, Cavalleria rusticana, Fedora, Manon Lescaut, and Tosca, music rich in passion, drama, and lyrical intensity, showcasing the full expressive power of the tenor voice.

Following the interval, the atmosphere shifts to a vibrant tribute to the legendary Mario Lanza, whose artistry brought operatic singing to a global audience. Featuring iconic songs such as Granada and Bésame Mucho, alongside beloved melodies from Bernstein, Gershwin, and Rodgers, the second half captures the glamour and emotional immediacy of Lanza’s timeless songbook.
