ABOUT THE CONCERT
Awards concert featuring Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2, operatic arias and more.
The new significant international award is being inaugurated right in the heart of Copenhagen with a spectacular concert featuring three global stars, when Tivoli Concert Hall hosts the first presentation of the Daphne Awards — a prize honouring the transformative power of music, a force we will experience first-hand in the concert hall as the superb Tivoli Copenhagen Phil, led by Alondra de la Parra, presents a glittering array of classical hits.
The Daphne Award celebrates some of the world’s greatest classical artists and is presented by the Danish Research Foundation, Tivoli Gardens, and Ouverture Productions.
An award of this magnitude naturally calls for artists of the very highest calibre, and the evening will feature an electrifying trinity of talent: pianist Lang Lang, tenor Jonathan Tetelman, and soprano Serena Sáenz. Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra takes the podium — an experience in itself thanks to her irresistibly vibrant energy.
The programme includes a series of classical masterpieces, one of the highlights being Rachmaninov’s divinely beautiful Piano Concerto No. 2 with Lang Lang at the keyboard, together with impassioned operatic arias performed to perfection by the award recipients. A concert certain to raise the roof of Tivoli Concert Hall.
