Concert: Teatro Municipal de Santiago

  • Teatro Municipal de Santiago (map)

ABOUT THE CONCERT

The Chilean-American tenor has rapidly risen on the international opera scene, establishing himself as one of the most distinguished voices of his generation. Acclaimed for his powerful voice and mastery of the Italian and French repertoire, he has performed on the world's most important stages.

Born in Castro, Chile, in 1988, he was adopted at an early age and raised in Princeton, New Jersey. He studied at the Manhattan School of Music and the Mannes School of Music . His career took off with roles such as Rodolfo in La bohème at the Komische Oper Berlin and the English National Opera , and as Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Teatro Regio in Turin and the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

His “golden tone, with fluid phrasing, tenderness and ardor in equal measure” (Gramophone), and a voice that “possesses all the Italian ardor (…) without compromising elegance or finesse” (Financial Times), have made him a central figure in today's lyrical scene.

In 2021, he signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon and released the album Arias in 2022 , featuring works by Verdi , Puccini , Bizet , and Massenet . He has collaborated with leading artists on galas and concerts, and has been invited to major festivals and theaters in Europe and America.
