Concert: Philharmonie Essen

  • Alfried Krupp Hall (map)

ABOUT THE CONCERT

Yesterday he was considered a rising star in the operatic firmament, today he shines undisputedly – from the New York Metropolitan Opera to the Vienna State Opera, from the Deutsche Oper Berlin to the Salzburg Festival. Jonathan Tetelman has sung his way meteorically into the front rank of world-class tenors. A wonderfully velvety timbre, astonishing technique, and unique vocal culture combine to create powerful and elegant expression. He won the Opus Klassik Prize for his debut album of arias in 2023, and his Puccini recordings earned him the equally coveted Gramophone Classical Music Award. Excerpts from Puccini's soulful operas are now on the program alongside other works of Italian verismo and French late Romanticism in Tetelman's Philharmonie debut, an opera evening with a large orchestra.
